The language of Intelligence [The Intelligence Black Paper, Figure 23.]

For centuries, humanity has pondered the Intelligence that governs nature and Scientists have attempted to unravel the nature of the brain. A consensus on the definition of intelligence has yet to happen, as intelligence has different definitions depending on the field of study. The prevailing theory today is that intelligence is local to the brain.

The Unified Intelligence DAO is a decentralized, autonomous organization challenging this perspective with the belief that investigating the distinction between Human intelligence and nature’s intelligence can help humanity build more efficient and symbiotic systems. At The Unified Intelligence DAO, we believe that to build such Artificial Intelligence Systems, we must first understand General intelligence.

To accomplish this, The Unified Intelligence DAO posed the following questions. What is Intelligence? What are Intelligent Systems? How do intelligent Systems Interact? These questions were answered in the publication, The Intelligence Black Paper, a digital asset that holds the first complete and consistent definition of General Intelligence. The Unified Intelligence DAO is the custodian of The Intelligence Black Paper.

Why Join The Unified Intelligence DAO?

The rules in the genesis block of a Blockchain define the rules of interactions and evolution of the blocks and the blockchain. The Intelligence Black Paper aims to be the Genesis Block of Intelligence, as it holds the algorithm or the organizational principles for all intelligent phenomena. In essence, The Intelligence Black Paper formalizes the definition of General Intelligence and outlines a ‘Language of Intelligence’.

What problem does The Unified Intelligence DAO solve?

A prevalent issue in computer science today is creating a universal architecture for building artificial intelligence systems that are interoperable. Unfortunately, the current model for building such systems revolves around replicating human intelligence in computational systems. This is achieved with interpolation models that rely on collected data points. The issue that arises with that methodology is that humanity has yet to fully understand natural intelligence, the physical brain, or its connection to human intelligence. Other limitations in the development of Artificial Intelligence systems include the acquisition and storage of data, computational limitations, and varying ethical challenges. The lack of a fundamental protocol defining intelligence, intelligent systems, and intelligent interactions has limited the development of a cohesive intelligence network. The Unified Intelligence DAO proposes an abstraction as a possible solution for General intelligence and aims to use this abstraction as a baseline algorithm for designing future Artificial Intelligence systems.

What is The Language of Intelligence?

The premise of The Intelligence Black Paper is to use the abstraction of intelligence presented to design a protocol of fundamental interaction. This protocol defines ‘The Language of Intelligence’ as outlined in The Intelligence Standard. The Intelligence Standard outlines the baseline algorithm that governs the emergence, interaction, and evolution of intelligent phenomena. Artificial Intelligent systems must adhere to the rules of this language to be considered Intelligent. The baseline algorithm acts as the Spine of intelligence, and all intelligent systems must be tethered or anchored to this spine. The Intelligence Standard is relevant because it creates a language that Artificial Intelligence systems could use to communicate and facilitate a universal intelligence network.

The Language of Intelligence: Intelligence is defined formally, informally, and computationally (∆ connotes infinitesimal and denotes Time complexity. ∞ connotes infinity, and denotes Dimensional complexity. Ο connotes finite and denotes Space complexity) [The Intelligence Black Paper, Figure 8.]

What is Proof-of-Intelligence?

The Intelligence Standard

Many Blockchains use Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake algorithms to achieve agreement on a single state of the network. This creates local consistency, but limits the interoperability of the chains at a global level, as these algorithms are domain gnostic, meaning they are blockchain-specific. The Intelligence Standard solves the domain issue with fault-tolerant mechanism systems by using the Intelligence algorithm from The Intelligence Black Paper to create a domain-agnostic universal consensus mechanism. This means that consensus can be achieved locally and globally by arbitrary intelligent systems that are anchored to the spine of intelligence and conform to The Language of Intelligence. We call this Proof-of-Intelligence. Proof-of-intelligence is a robust fault-tolerant mechanism.
