The founding members of ODIN Society — a non-profit bona fide worker co-operative. ODIN Society aims to build on this governance model by joining together a global ODIN co-operators framework.

ODIN is a project for good

From conception, ODIN was envisaged as a project which will help good causes. ODIN Society wants to help make the earth a better, more sustainable place for all the things that live on it, by identifying and connecting with people and organizations that will benefit by collaborating with our community of technology innovators and creators.

The United Nations have collaborated with thousands of researchers worldwide in order to define 17 sustainable development goals to hit by 2030. ODIN Society is working to help contribute to these goals in any way we can. This includes the 500K ODIN reserve we are locking up as a fund to support SDGs in 2020.

All United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015. This is a robust and well-researched plan to attain peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.

Global Partnership Urgent Calls For Action

There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They are all urgent calls for action by all countries in a global partnership. The SDGs cover areas such as spurring economic growth, reducing inequality, improving education, and tackling global environmental issues. We believe that ODIN can have a direct positive impact on many of the goals, through our technologies and our growing community of collaborators. ODIN can also help increase awareness of these goals and support SDGs through various funding models.

We can achieve this through the direction and leadership of our growing ODIN Society team, and collaborating community. To be successful, we must constantly assess and try our hardest to understand, prioritize, and help to solve important global issues which have already been diligently researched by thousands of reputable international organizations, and articulated as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

A perfect fit for ODIN

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a combination of collaborative work and analysis generated by thousands of researchers across the globe. These ‘blueprints for good’ are there to provide clear actions that anyone or any organization can perform if they want to ensure that they are contributing to good causes that will have a positive impact on both humanity and the planet earth.

ODIN Society Pledge 500,000 ODIN Coins

Our first action is an outright pledge from ODIN Society to the Global Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations. We will lock 500,000 ODIN coins in an ODIN Society multisig wallet until July 24th, 2020, regardless of ODIN’s trading price. From that date, the funds will be available to directly support at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

One (or more) SDGs will be allocated ODIN funds and resources via proposals from SDG charities and non-profits. We will hold a community vote via the ODIN Society members, and fund allocations will then be put authorized via relevant ODIN Masternode Proposals. These will be voted on by the (at time of writing) 825+ ODIN Masternode operators on the ODIN Masternodes network.
