Boot camp experience(Day3)
When things look tough ,stop for a moment and remember why you started it in the first place and how far you have come!..Growth mindset ,you remember?Do you copy?. Well,this is my third day at Andela and as I have always said in my previous blogs ,it is not easy here but the good news is ,it is always a learning experience. This is not hell,it is Andela.
My third day has proven to be a nightmare! .I have a lot of Lab work to do yet I have been faced with intermittent Internet connectivity. Boot camp without Internet is no boot camp,in fact Internet is the boot camp hehe. This is because I have to camp in the Internet doing my work ,research and collaborate in order to accomplish my tasks and submit in time. This is never to be on this day.
First my mobile data got finished at midnight. I had been on it the whole night. My eyes were heavy yet I was fighting sleep. Having no Internet and thinking of the workload ahead of me made me to stay awake .I turned on my bed and barely got to sleep. I was eagerly waiting for dawn!After waiting for hours which seemed months,it was morning and i had very little to do on my body. My mind was somewhere else. I was headed to my friend’s office in town with the hope that I would have a luxury of browsing limitlessly
Well ,still there was nothing to smile about. The Internet was poor,very slow.
After some times I couldn’t stand it. It was time to move to some other place. At this point I had begun being worried .I was frustrated. The deadline for work submission was first approaching yet here I was still making little progress. Then I remembered that communication is key ,if done early enough. I quickly communicated my trouble to my facilitator and in her understanding,she granted me more time. This was a relief.
Moving into another building in town in search of a connectivity was worthwhile. I settled down and begun working on my lab work. It was intense as always but with the team spirit here at boot camp,there is nothing to fear. My team members are amazing. I did my work till late but I managed to finish. We help each other out as we learn new things. I have so far learnt new programming concepts that I never knew before e.g test cases,Python APIs and many others. I am happy and excited despite all the odds.
I believe that God has a purpose for me here and no matter what,i am not gonna quit!I need your prayers to help me pull through. My day 4 is here!
