Lightning fast intro comes first
I’m Odysseas. I quitted an established design studio to build a better workplace for creatives. A workplace that could in turn make the world better.
Known as crisis, felt like depression
Owning a company in Greece is tough but I guess that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Offering services though, considered as “not that necessary” by local entrepreneurs, during crisis can be even tougher.
But we gave it a shot and built høly, a talented and dedicated team based in Athens, consisting of 10 people averaging 27 years old. This small, yet cherry-picked team can handle a great spectrum of creative fields, mastering design, development and communication.
Great design is enough. Right?
Not really! Ιn this post-crisis environment, studios and freelancers struggle to be competitive leading prices of creative services at ⅕ of respective ones in central Europe and America. At the same time, delayed payments from clients, workflow overload in order to make ends meet and time scarcity contribute to our turning creative competitions and personal projects down.
Thus…
This results in exclusively dealing with client-based projects of limited budget that imperil team’s sustainability and generate a suffocating insecurity always present and ready to suppress your creativity and courage.
And while we could, mastering our fields, escape Greece for a bright career, we stubbornly hold our position. Αrmed with that initial vision, a better workplace and a better world, we cope with this recession that previous generations together with a state at disarray brought upon us.
We needed a breath
Running a crowdfunding campaign for Futuracha Pro ensures that the cost to bring the best version possible to life is distributed among creatives that are going to use it. That way our team’s sustainability isn’t at stake and wecan devote more time to a project we’ve already worked hard for.
Futuracha Pro holds back the greatest and most demanding client we’ve ever had — the design community — and we couldn’t be more grateful for that.
The spark that triggered the creation of Futuracha Pro originated from these quarter of a million people, the creations they come up with and the messages they sent asking for a font that could be installed in a computer and enable them to actually type.
But why extend?
The true goal of this campaign is to make Futuracha Pro available to all 250.000 people around the world that inspired us. We still lag behind with only 1 out of 625 downloaders getting the Pro version of Futuracha.
Besides, Futuracha is only one of our offsprings. We are a creative team full of ideas, most of which may solve a wide range of everyday problems with the invaluable help of technology and design. In order to devote time to these ideas we need to buy some time out of client projects. This campaign can help us achieve that.
What’s next?
1. Futuracha Pro campaign on Indiegogo will remain active for 20 more days.
2. Focusing on delivering Futuracha Pro to as many creatives as possible, we announce that anyone that has already purchased — or will do so until the end of the extension period — a personal or commercial use license can gift one personal use license to a friend or colleague for free.
3. We begin the production of all perks right away and keep our backers posted during the whole process.
4. We will launch the Futuracha beta testing period, in order to get all the necessary feedback to make Futuracha Pro and introduce more letter variations and ligatures.
