The Seasons

I love the outdoors and every season that goes along with them. When I was a child and still today I spend a fair amount of time with my cousin and just like me he loves the outdoors. Together we would ride our bikes, scooters, and most fun of them all were the electric powered scooters. When I see those scooters I go back to when I was eight years old. I believe it was during the summer of third grade and I was spending the day with my cousin at my aunts house on the other side of town. Me and my cousin came up with this great idea to use a scooter and rope and a wagon. We tied the rope to the scooter and wagon and towed each other in the wagon. Everything was going great until we down a gravel hill and the wagon flipped with me in it, lucky we were wearing a helmet, so nothing serious happened, but man that was one of the most scary and exciting things that has happened to me. The scooters to me resembles the summer and the crazy, hilarious, scariest and exciting times I had during the summer.

When I see those skis I think of a time just last year when I was skiing with all my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, and parents. We were staying at my Grandparents house out in angels camps on a big property where we shoot trap, go to the lake, boat, and of across ski. It was a beautiful blue jay day and we all woke up at the crack of dawn to go ski at Bear Valley ski resort. We all showed up in are sweet rimless goggles and American flag ski masks. My family is full of good skiers, but we don’t go off jumps. Me and my cousin are going down are eighth run and are feeling like olympic skiers, which we were not and we decide to head over to the rails and jumps run. When I get there I decide to go first. I start heading extremely fast towards a grind rail, I hit the rail and everything is going great, then suddenly my legs split and fall over on my rear end and the most hilarious part of it all is that my cousin caught it all on camera. When we got home I am pretty sure my family and I watched it about a billion times and each time cracked up like a bag of popcorn. Though it was not one of my best skiing moments it was still the greatest time I have ever had skiing.

In the future, when I am not a young man anymore I want to be on the roads seeking adventure at every turn, learning different things everyday from different people, in different places, and in different ways. I want to still be playing sports, games both mental and physical, fishing, skiing, and just enjoying my love for the seasons of the year. Not only do I want to be with family I want to be playing golf and poker with buddies every weekend. I also really hoped I found a profession with math and science involved. I know one thing I still will be listening to my favorite country and 80’s music that I love to listen to. I hope to still be coming up with great jokes and making people laugh. Telling my hilarious stories from my childhood and my adulthood. Cooking food with other people, learning interesting new and exciting dishes to cook for friends and family, from other people in other cultures. I can only imagine smelling, touching, seeing, and hearing all that the open road and life can offer me. A quote that I have loved since the day I heard it a long time ago “ Life is not worth living if you do not learn or experience something new and interesting everyday.
