I came here to say the same thing. Affleck may be a piece of crap and with the caveat that I haven’t seen Captain Fantastic yet, I can’t imagine a much better performance than the one he gave in Manchester by the Sea. Denzel’s performance was good, but he as on 11 the whole time. It was his “King Kong ain’t got nothin’ on me!” speech for two hours and twenty minutes. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely. Was it better than Affleck’s performance? Not in my book.
