Scroll, data administration and security company, helps individuals and businesses achieve greater transparency and data integrity by empowering them with tools for decentralization. One of those tools is Aster, Scroll’s enterprise supply chain management software. Aster leverages Scroll’s utility token, Data Transaction Token (XD), to connect companies’ semi-private distributed ledgers with public blockchains. It’s imperative Aster is also able to connect companies’ semi-private distributed ledgers with legacy systems, since most companies today still rely on legacy systems to store historical information. To achieve this, Scroll will soon incorporate Chainlink technology within Aster.

Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts to securely access off-chain data feeds, web APIs, and traditional bank payments. Incorporating Chainlink technology within Aster is the most efficient and effective way to connect legacy systems with ledgers. This integration will not only streamline the development process for new Aster clients, but also increase the usability of information pulled from a company’s legacy system.

Scroll anticipates future use-cases for Chainlink as well, such as leveraging the technology to facilitate communication between distinct semi-private distributed ledgers.

“Collaborating with Chainlink to deliver better transaction data between legacy systems and ledgers will allow Aster to improve the efficiency and adoptability of decentralized data transactions in businesses today.” — Nate Pitruzzello
