For all of you who do not know, Brave team hosted an AMA with our CEO Lin Dai on Monday. The TAP and Brave community submitted questions, and our CEO, Lin Dai, answered them personally. We want to say thank you to both communities. Without their support and interest this AMA would not be possible. The questions were really probing, and frankly, some of them were hard to answer; however, they were all amazing questions. Thank you again for participating. A special thank you to Jennie T of Brave for hosting us and helping with the AMA as well. We could not have done it without you and your help. …

The last couple of months have been a whirlwind for TAP. We had our launch party, a huge partnership, and coverage from one of the most prolific publications in the world. When we got into the cryptocurrency realm, we knew it would be an uphill battle because of the large amount of competing crypto projects that did not always succeed in making their vision a reality, which resulted in individual investors and Venture Capital being reluctant to invest in other cryptocurrency projects. The market cap of cryptocurrency receded from almost 1 trillion dollars at the height of the cryptocurrency craze to around 100 million when it bottomed out. Many projects died; however, many projects like TAP and Brave were able to survive and make progress throughout this market because of great leadership, a roadmap that was realistic, a use case that solved a real world problem that was not already solved by a non-crypto application, and by hiring the right team with real world experience. At press, the market is currently on a rebound, which we hope will result in renewed interest in cryptocurrency and increased investment. We hope it will continue that way, but our entire team is extremely proud of everything that we accomplished during the tumult. …

We have a solemn mission at TAP network that transcends making cool new technology that makes your life more fun and convenient. Our mission is to drastically change the playing field, of not just reward systems, but in every sector where consumers/businesses are not getting the value and efficiency they deserve.

The old paradigm is not aligning with the wants and needs of a new generation of consumers and end users, who crave the “experience lifestyle”. In fact, the original intent of customer loyalty programs was to lock consumers into one brand even if that brand was not giving the consumer/business the best value. There is nothing wrong with incentivizing loyalty to a brand; it becomes a problem when brands give nothing of value back or the illusion of value. In other words, both the consumer/end user and the brand should be getting maximum value and something out of any initiative or program. That applies just as much to reward systems as it does to social spending programs. …

TAP network, Hooch app, and the phrase powered by TAP are used quite often in our social media. We even have a website dedicated to each one of these items. Since, our Hooch ecosystem is so complex and provides so many benefits, not only to consumers, but also to brands, publishers, and venues, we feel it is of the utmost importance to clarify the meaning of each term and how each piece fits together to form a greater whole.

Let us start with the Hooch app. Hooch app on the Play™ and Appstore™ is where all the magic happens. Below is the home screen of the Hooch app where you navigate through all the functions. You can book hotels and resorts worldwide and save up to 70 % off traditional listed rates. You can also compare the venues around you that are featured on the Hooch App by pressing the venue button and using the filter option to find your favorite restaurant or bar. If you are a Hooch Black member, you can redeem a drink each day of the month at participating venues. That is the core of the Hooch App. You can also get deals like 25 % off at Well Suited, a free membership to Limelight Fitness, and other “members only” experiences. We are always adding more unique benefits for members. …

Barcelona — Feb. 26, 2019 — Brave Software, an innovative privacy browser combined with a blockchain based digital advertising platform, and TAP Network, the first advertising and data network that connects brands to reward consumers directly using blockchain, today announced a partnership at Mobile World Congress that will allow Brave users to redeem Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for real-world rewards offered by over 250,000 top brand partners in the TAP Network. Brave browser users who choose to view opt-in private ads from Brave’s brand partners are rewarded with BAT via Brave Rewards. This collaboration will be the first to integrate token utility redemption through the Brave browser as part of its global private ad platform. As an opt-in option to the browsing experience, Brave’s existing desktop users can choose to view exclusive offers and ads from top brand advertisers to earn BAT. In turn, brand advertisers through the TAP Network will have the opportunity to reach a guaranteed engaged audience that has opted-in to viewing advertisements. TAP Network’s unique permissioned data and rewards technology has been called the “best disruptive pull marketing” and connected top brands such as Paramount Pictures and Red Bull to millions of consumers. Brave users will be able to redeem earned tokens for hotel stays worldwide, restaurant vouchers, exclusive entertainment experiences, as well as gift cards from top national brands including Amazon, Starbucks, Uber, Apple and many more. They will also be able to contribute to the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, World Wildlife Fund and hundreds of other charitable causes via TAP Network. Brave will be extending this partnership to include mobile platforms by the end of 2019. “Both the user and the advertiser lose in today’s digital advertising landscape, and with regulations like GDPR looming all over the world, this broken ecosystem simply cannot continue as we know it,” said Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave Software. “We’re excited to welcome TAP Network as a partner for our ad platform that’s built completely on privacy, and together, reward users for their attention while opening doors for brands that are looking to connect ethically with new audiences.” “Consumer data is being misused by major internet companies and TAP Network empowers consumers to directly take control of their own data and get rewarded from top brands,” said Lin Dai, co-founder and CEO of TAP Network, “We are excited to partner with Brave to further the mission of protecting consumer privacy, and rewarding users for participating in the advertising ecosystem.” This partnership, part of Brave Ads, will be integrated in Brave’s desktop browser (macOS, Windows, Linux), as well as in the Android app (iOS will be available later) in the coming months. …

In the last article courtesy of Tap Network and the Hooch app, our Tap community manager, Andrew, wrote about his adventure, where he was able to get a hotel room near Disney World for $80 instead of $300. In this adventure, my girlfriend and I, went to New York to take advantage of the amazing restaurant and bars to test out the new Hooch Beta experience and TAP redemption. I wanted some free drinks and best believe I would cross a desert (or in this case Manhattan traffic) to get them. New York is the centerpiece of the Tap Network and has some of the most exclusive and sought out restaurants, which includes the Brooklyn Chop House and their famous Dry Aged Porterhouse to Divya’s Kitchen and their delicious vegetarian fare. New York is, arguably, the hub of the world when you want to get the best food and drinks. …

It is that time of year again where love commercials fill the air waves, flowers pack the grocery store shelves, and singles groan at the totality of it all. That day is Valentines day, and yours truly, is going away to spend 4 fabulous days and 3 nights at Disney World with the girlfriend, all for because of Hooch App and TAP Coin.

How did Hooch, help? Well, I booked the traditional way like millions of consumers, on top travel sites like Hotels.com or Airbnb, I would have had to pay “published rate” for a stay, and it would have run me around $200 a night + not including fees, within 10 miles of the hotel. On the cheaper end, I could have stayed in a camper to get it down to $100 a night, but pretty sure that’s not the romantic Valentine’s Day vacation the girlfriend dreams of. …

Do you remember where you were when the Equifax Breach happened? If your anything like me, I remember the event clearly because as a millennial, who likes to think of himself as a tech guy, I knew how much of a disaster the event could be, not only for myself, but for millions of Americans. In a panic, I signed up for a data protection service that monitors my credit, and with sweat dripping down my brow, I checked my credit report. I breathed a sign of relief when I saw my credit was mostly unaffected; however, little did I know that the breach was just the tip of the iceberg. People the world over would face data breaches from big companies and agencies that were entrusted with our data. While the media covered the stories for a news cycle, they soon drop off the radar sadly. …
