Motorola Moto X4 Makes an Impression in Malaysia

Motorola’s Moto X series was once the company’s flagship line which pushed the boundaries when it came to design. Now, under Lenovo, the series is pushing design boundaries when it comes to Motorola’s smartphones. The latest iteration of the Moto X series was announced earlier this year, it’s now making its awaited appearance in Malaysia.

The new entry to the Moto X series, the Moto X4, brings a new deisgn language which mirrors what we’ve come to expect from flagship devices. The device is Motorola’s first device with a glass front and back and also the first to tout an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. It also has the now signature camera bump. However, this round Motorola has decked it out with what they call the watch bezel design.

The Moto X4 is running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.2GHz. It is paired with the Adreno 508 graphics processor and comes with 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable with additional storage of up to 1TB capacity through microSD cards.

On the display front, the Moto X4 comes with a 5.2-inch FullHD 1080p display. This gives it a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch (ppi). It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. This includes the back glass panel.

On the camera front, the Moto X4 comes with a dual camera sensor setup. It’s a wide-angle and RGB sensor setup. The sensors are a 12-megapixel dual autofocus Pixel sensor with an aperture f/2.0 and 1.4µm pixel size and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with 120° field of view, a f/2.2 aperture and 1.12µm pixel size. It is able to shoot 4K UltraHD video at 30 frames per second. It also has a smart camera feature which allows you to identify landmarks and pull up related information. The front facing camera is a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 0.1µm pixel size.

The Moto X4 has support for Dual Nano SIM and WiFi a/b/g/n/ac as well as support for Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). It also carries a USB type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also has a fingerprint sensor placed below the screen.

The Moto X4 will be available starting 6th November 2017 at Motorola retail partners and from the official Motorola store on LAZADA for RM1,899 (USD$447.77). It will be available in Super Black and Sterling Blue.
