Boost is Malaysia’s own homegrown e-wallet app which takes a unique approach to e-payments through the gamification of each transaction done on the app. This gamification takes the form of a shake reward which gives an instant cash back after every transaction done on the Boost app.

The app is continuing to take Malaysia by storm through the introduction of new features including the ability to go dutch (split the bill) and even the ability to pay parking. However, their biggest growth is driven by their success in getting cash only merchants such as the nasi lemak aunty down the road or the pasar malam operators. With these Grass Roots operators and local universities such as UTM (University Teknologi Mara) coming on the platform, the app user base has grown to over 2.5 million installs since their launch last year.

The app bolsters their utility with new functions. Users will be able to pay for public parking within the Klang Valley. Boost will not only be allowing users to make the transactions via the app, they will also be keeping track of the time parked; This also means that they will be sending users reminders when their parking time is running out. You don’t have to worry about leaving your phone in the car to let authorities know you’ve paid your parking with the app. Boost is working with the authorities to allow them to identify cars parked and paid using the Boost App. From what we understand, authorities will be able to identify the cars by scanning the number and/or vehicle with their version of the app to identify these vehicles.

Utility bill payment is also making its way to the Boost app. You’ll be able to pay for your electricity, water and internet bills using the app. This also means that you’ll be able to be eligible for a shake reward when you do your bill payments every month. In addition to this, users are now able to donate to Tabung Harapan Malaysia (Malaysia Hope Fund) and also the Tabung BERSAMAMU using the app. In the spirit of giving, Boost is pledging to RM1 to Tabung Harapan Malaysia for every 10 shake rewards.

World Cup fever is taking over the world. The app isn’t spared. The app has launched a seasonal feature called “Boost Cup 2018”. In the new “Boost Cup 2018” users will be able to predict the outcomes of the matches. Those who predict the outcome correctly will stand to win their share of RM90,000 cash prizes on the app.

If you want to take part in the Boost Cup or use the features of the app, you can download the Boost app in the Google Play and App Store.
