Tokens on Tezos

One of the projects we have been working on at TezTech Labs is tokenization, with our first token standard published last year (TzToken). Over the last month we have made improvements to our standard, and updated the tztoken website to better track token balances. The tztoken standard is made to adapt and change, allowing individual token creators to make small changes to the token standard whilst still having a standard interface for interactions (like transfers).

We are also extremely proud to announce the origination of the first tztoken on Tezos — the VIAZ token. Being the CTO of VIAZ, I have worked closely with the team and exchange partners to develop the token standard and support tools to allow for better integration with future exchanges and wallets. This includes our Technical Integration Guide and our JS library (which can be used with our eztz.js library) for supporting tztoken integration.

From a technological point of view, we believe supporting the tztoken standard would be relatively quick and painless for applications (like wallets and exchanges) who already support Tezos. We are aiming to provide support and additional guides and documentation to assist with this process as well.

We are currently working with exchanges to add support for our tztoken standard on their exchanges. We are also working to integrate the tztoken standard into our Tezbox wallet, as well as allowing for integration of other emerging token standards. We hope to have tokens working with Tezbox before the end of Q3 (hopefully sooner).
