House Music: The popularity
Historically, we can easily spot the continuous and notorious boost in interest in what before was regarded as being simply a music produced by computers. The fact that was once popular just in Europe has recently found its niche in the usa. During the past several years, that which was once covered with rock, reggae, blues, R&B and soul has opened to what is now undoubtedly one of the most used music styles.
A few years ago, a pal of mine told me, “In another eight years we’ll present a property music revolution. Few rock bands will emerge and reach popularity. Other bands like Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Nickelback, etc will retain and possibly grow their popularity as a consequence of whatever they accomplished ahead of the momentum achieved by House music.”
As a young teenager, fan of rock, and knowing little relating to this electronic trend, I was thinking that my good friend was probably wanting to fool me. Today, because i look at the many electronic music festivals all over the world I strive to guess how he knew this would certainly happen. Nowadays, the contagious energy transmitted through the combined melody of countless instruments has become being substituted with the sound made by some type of computer connected with a mixer turntable full of different buttons. Where people once cued for live shows such as the Rolling Stones today, cue precisely the same venues to get a different kind of spectacle… a spectacle where strobes, flashes and clouds of colored lasers are predominant.
David Guetta, one of the most influential figures of House music and thought of by so many as among the pioneers in the genre, spent years of his life hunting for a way to generate a link between Europe and America. His passion for music and his awesome desire mainstream popularity was his motivation to find new approaches to bridge his new style towards the masses.
Besides their creativity and their good listening skills, what else did DJs need in order to make what you love popular? What did they need to discover or incorporate so that you can satisfy and get to the most audiences? Which audiences medicine ones addressed?
Many DJs attemptedto realize that bridge for upwards of numerous years of work. Recognized artists like Tisto, Armin van Buuren and Fatboy Slim were among the first to discover success in American lands, but mostly in places where the underground electronic music was predominant. With a more progressive, aggressive and psychedelic style of electronic beats and fluctuations, they portrayed a “one of the kind” image.
However, the newest millennium would finally reveal the missing piece for House’s success. Which key aspect was the combination of numerous music styles with House music. In the beginning that idea sounded silly towards the ears of music specialists. Critics about how likely would electronic music and hip/hop or R&B communicate were often heard. Thus, only 1 success could silence the critics and that’s what found themselves happening.
David Guetta was the initial artist that thought we would combine artists of music backgrounds along with his own beats. Gospel artists, R&B, Rap, and hip/hop were all considered by him being a chance for finding a good mix. The ideal beat and sequence and also the optimal vocals might make music popular which was what he sought. Songs like “Love is Gone” and “The World is Mine” were major successes among different audiences. The demand for the radio and MTV was enormous as well as recognize that was first. Music would have been to be reborn.
The collaboration with gospel singer Chris Willis in 2002 showed many artists that Home is a music style that will function under any conditions. Ever since then, David Guetta has collaborated with lots of artists starting from rappers (Snoop Dog & Ludacris); reggae starts (Usher, Taio Cruz & Akon); R&B (Sia and Kelly Rowland) and the like.
Swedish trio made up of Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso can also be considered by so many as very influential while the achievement of House music’s success. Alone, all of them released popular hits inside the years following David Guetta’s first international success. However, in 2005 the three close friends made a decision to put their knowledge together and form one of many legends in the genre called Swedish House Mafia. Their influence failed to come simply with the success from major songs in collaboration with recognized artists, but also originated the support presented to emerging DJs such as Alesso and Avicii who nowadays reached major success for all audiences due to the guidance provided within their early careers.
2013 was an important year internal music. Using the incorporation of numerous more festivals around the world, and songs reaching top positions in billboards it is clearly noticeable that a few things i thought was just a dream in my friend’s head is now true. DJs are selling out concerts in enormous venues like Madison Square Garden (NY), Le Stade de France (Paris) and Wembley Stadium (London).
