Living Wage Announcement
As you may know the new statutory national living wage for workers aged 25 and above went into effect on 1st April 2016.
It’s a new nationwide legislation raising the minimum wage for those aged 25 or over to £7.20 from £6.70 per hour. While many have opted to apply different pay rates for staff aged under vs over 25, we have so many amazing team members aged 18 to 24 that we felt that basing pay on age alone was unfair. So we decided to apply the living wage increase to all.
It is with great excitement that we today announce that all of our staff will be lifted to a minimum of £8.07/hour.
This includes a holiday allowance payment of £0.87/hour on top of the new living wage. For those aged 18 to 24, this pay rise will apply after the first 30 shifts are completed. Staff who have already completed 30 shifts with us will be delighted to know their pay was increased on the 1st April as the counting of these shifts is back dated.
