S08E06 — Poetic Justice — Plot points

A lot can be changed starting from Ned’s beheading but that wouldn’t make GOT what it is. The dull finale though deserved better. Minor changes to the finale.

Dany gives out the victor’s speech and lets her army know that this is just the beginning, many chains have to be broken, many slavers have to die and many tyrant kings have to bend the knee. Tyrion comes to her and tells her that she no longer can see the good from the bad and she has burned a city. He then resigns from being the Hand of the Queen only to be charged for treason for freeing Jamie and to be be executed the following day.

Jon suggests, that the war is over and Tyrion deserves a trial. Dany agrees and would decide Tyrion’s fate the following day. The word is out that Cersei and the kingslayer are dead and tyranny is over.

During the victor’s lunch Jon pleads for the lives of Lannister soldiers and others who have survived the war but is denied by Dany. She says as soldiers, ‘you either win or you die’, there are no trials!

Jon then meets Dany in private, asking for mercy with Tyrion. Dany denies again and tells him while she loves him for the kind man he is who she once was herself, it is also the reason he can never govern, not alone at least, for he is…
