These are some of the top mountaineering movies ever existed .
And even if you are not a mountaineer, you get the feeling of the coolest adventures.

1. Touching the Void (2003) :

It is a docudrama survival film about Joe Simpson’s and Simon Yates’ disastrous and near-fatal climb of Siula Grande in the Cordillera Huayhuash in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. It is based on Simpson’s 1988 book of the same name.
The Guardian described it as “the most successful documentary in British cinema history”.

2. The Summit (2012) :

The Summit is a 2012 documentary film about the 2008 K2 disaster, directed by Nick Ryan.
It talks about 11 climbers died during a short time span, creating one of the worst catastrophes in climbing history, on the way to and from the summit .

3. Everest (2015) :

Everest is a British-American biographical adventure film made in 2015, directed and co-produced by Baltasar Kormákur, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Nicky Kentish Barnes, Tyler Thompson and Brian Oliver and written by William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy.
It is based on the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, and focuses on the survival attempts of two expedition groups, one led by Rob Hall (Clarke) and the other by Scott Fischer (Gyllenhaal).

4. Beyond the Edge (2013) :

This film documents the first conquest of Everest by Hillary and Norgay. Charting the treacherous conditions endured during the 1953 expedition, the film uses re-enactments and archive footage to recount the event that would stun the world.

5. The Eiger Sanction (1975):

A college lecturer (Clint Eastwood) tops up his university wage by carrying out the occasional assassination. His latest assignment involves joining an expedition up the Eiger, identifying the Russian killer amongst the group, and then neutralising him. Classic Clint.

6. 127 hours (2010):

127 Hours is a 2010 biographical survival psychological thriller film produced and directed by Danny Boyle. The film stars James Franco as Aron Ralston, a canyoneer who becomes trapped by a boulder in an isolated slot canyon in Blue John Canyon, southeastern Utah, in April 2003.
