Blah — Uber.
Blah - Uber. Disrupter. Transportation innovator. Ugh. I’m tired of hearing it all.
Yes, Uber changed the transportation dynamics and traditional limo companies scrambled to retain good chauffeurs. The giants who used to get away with charging obscene dollar amounts for wait time and hourly charters could not compete with the flexibility or the lure of surge pricing which offered drivers 2x, 3x, 4x the amount of money to do the same work.
But now, due to aggressive recruiting campaigns, including promises of close to six figure salaries and referrals for up to $500 per driver, the market is saturated with drivers.
In downtown Chicago, if you drop the pickup pin anywhere downtown, you will have your choice of Uberx, Select and Black Cars — all within three minutes away at any given time.
And with the recent slashing of UberX fares across the nation, many UberX drivers have turned their apps off for good.
They cannot drive for 90 hours a week:

For minimum wage… in cars that are underwater.

Recently, in a reversal, some drivers are even defaulting to Taxi Cabs and Driver applications are trickling in.
Limo companies; the pendulum has swung. Uber has saturated the market with drivers and have established their brand. With their Uber Rush, Uber Commute and Puppy Delivery service, they are clearly interested in logistics; collecting Big Data to appease their many fresh-faced investors and hungry VCs.
Good chauffeurs are out there and we are tired. We are tired of being alone, fishing in an all too small pond.
We are tired of Uber’s games and surges. When it surges, our passengers punish not Uber, but the driver with low ratings.
We are tired of staging for hours only to end up with a local trip for $10.
We are tired of not knowing the destination beforehand and not knowing how much to expect in one day.
We are tired of the entitled customers who think they are super, fancy, classy, exotic, elegant because they are taking a black car service for three blocks.
This is your chance to recruit. You have the client book, you have the clients we want to service and you know how to train with a focus on customer service.
Let’s show clients how transportation is done. Let’s treat our drivers like true partners and let’s reward the true limousine clients with the service we can deliver.
