This is what oppression looks like.

Down with tomato supremacy.

Society needs to be mindful of the fact that there are ingredients outside of the tomato majority.

Putting raw tomato on everything says something about what ingredients we, as a society, value. Raw tomato is not the best sandwich ingredient. There are other sandwich ingredients out there that have just as much ability to be delicious, provide energy, and impart nutrients.

As a society, we need to give all sandwich ingredients access to the lunch opportunity structure. Avocado is experiencing an unprecedented moment in food history. As is arugula and goat cheese.

But we can do better. We must do better. Sandwich diversity is a worthwhile societal pursuit. Because I am sick of picking tomatoes off my sandwiches.

When I posted this to my community the response was a bunch of delightfully activisty tomato jokes. You can read them here, and if you decide to stay, no one will mind.
