We’re working on making the default controls work better with dpad, which should make using them without any customisation a valid option. We don’t have any plans beyond that though. If you’re developing an app targeted specifically at AndroidTV then it’s likely you’ll want to make bigger changes to truly optimize the controls for the big screen. We might take a look at doing something in this area at some point, but it wont be any time soon.
