But they are loosing money by loosing customers by making software of poor quality. I’m absolutely sure, Microsoft isn’t ok with this, they just don’t have reasonable options. This only indicates that there is no cheap solution here. No short cuts.

Linux (or rather Linux distributives) are not perfect either. They just give you more choice. I’m mostly happy with a chopped off Xubuntu on my home computers, but it’s not because of its superior quality, rather because I don’t have to deal with the software I distrust.
