I Lived For A Five Months On A Cruise Ship
We boarded the cruise ship “Ambition” in the Port of Glasgow on October 13th, 2022. At that time, almost 1200 Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war used the ship as a temporary shelter.
A new chapter of my life has begun.
We came to Scotland without any preparations, and I knew nothing about this country. Honestly talking, it was the first time in my life that I went abroad without any plan or any idea where I was going to stay. It was like trusting your inner feelings and your destiny despite the total obscurity ahead.
Sometimes you just have to trust the universe and your inner voice
After landing at the airport we departed for the Refugee Hub and soon afterward we came to Glasgow, where the “Ambition” cruise ship was standing at the pier. Scottish government rented a cruise ship specially for Ukrainian refugees.
I never lived on the student campus while studying at the university. And now I have an opportunity to live with 1200 Ukrainians under one roof. It even sounded unrealistic to me.
I always dreamed of traveling on a cruise ship, but I would never imagined such a situation! We ate together, spent our free time together…
