Leslie Jones is a human being, and what is being done to her is wrong…but Milo whatshisname is correct that it is part of a “payback” — Karmic, or not.

You are *totally* wrong and Naive for suggesting that Leslie’s physical appearance is*ugly* and that the backlash stems from that.

Serena Williams is one of the most beautiful women on the Planet, and she too has been attacked with the Gorilla meme.

So, I think you are out of line for jumping on the bandwagon and insulting Leslie’s physical appearance. This is not about physical Beauty.

It is the Persona/Avatar and stereotypes which she chooses to emphasize which help fuel the dislike in this era of inflamed race relations and resentment towards the glorification of Thug Life in popular Black Culture.

Wanda Sykes is no “beauty” — and she certainly says controversial things — but her humor does not degrade Black people, neither in their own eyes nor in the eyes of white people. There is an Intelligence in Wanda’s humor that you simply cannot argue against, regardless of your race.

Leslie Jones is *not* funny, from my POV. I am well aware of what *real* Black women are all about…having lived and loved with real Black women all of my life, and Leslie portrays a caricature of everything which Black folks ought to dislike, but instead glorify and turn into an art form.

I grew up among the Black women portrayed in the famous poem “The Strong Black Woman is Dead.” Those are *real* Black women. Leslie portrays a caricature which is ugly, for reasons other than appearance.

Leslie portrays the Black women who get into fist fights in Walmart. She portrays the Black women who have no insight into their abusiveness and who lack awareness of their own ignorance, which they pass on to their fatherless children whom they expect their extended families and friends to help them support and raise.

Too often, it takes a Village to Raise a Child because the mothers can’t be bothered making sure they can support themselves before they bring another human being into the world.

So, they burden the already burdened “Strong Black Women” among their family and friends and exhaust their support network’s resources of time, effort, love and money rather than building their own nests and making sure they have their *own* resources to raise their babies.

“Say it Loud: I’m Black and I’m Proud” has devolved into “Say it Loud: I’m Black and I’m Crude and Will Shout You Down and Bitch-slap You.”

Over 190 Black Children under the age of 17 have been shot in Chicago this year. Only ONE was shot by a Cop. Black thugs are responsible for hundreds of times more death and destruction among Black families than Cops or white people are.

Black babies as young as One Year Old are being shot on a weekly basis by young Black people who model the same kind of verbal and physical aggression that Leslie exudes in her routines.

White people are resentful that Black folks try to create a false Reality in which Cops and white people in general are increasingly violent towards Black folks.

The death rate among Black teens from guns fired by other Blacks is Hundreds of times greater than the death rate of white teens.

That is not so much evidence of white “Privilege” as it is a symptom of *ABUSE* of Black folks by other Black folks, which is tolerated and glamorized within popular Black culture.

Many white people are sickened by the Hypocrisy of the Black Lives Matter movement, which feels justified in promoting killing Cops and burning and looting and disrupting businesses and white people’s lives over the deaths of gun-carrying and Marijuana-smoking thugs like Alton Sterling and Michael Brown — Yet they are NEVER seen blocking traffic on the streets controlled by the Gangs and thugs in Chicago when TRULY UNARMED and innocent Black babies are shot and murdered.

Many Black folks are promoting hostility and hatred towards white and justifying the killing of white cops — and white people in general — as punishment and retribution for real injustices of the Past and exaggerated injustices of the Present.

In the meantime, the Buffoonery and excesses of the “popular” Black subculture and glorification of thugs, Big Pimping, Bitch-slapping, Ghetto-fabulousness, Purple-drank guzzling, carrying guns, bullying people in public, and disrespect for laws and authority cause a cognitive and emotional double bind for many white people.

Many whites are tired of being brow-beaten for not being willing to tear down America’s social institutions and rebuild them in a manner that would please the loudest and angriest Black advocates who are coming from a Marxist world-view that has been urging the American public to hate themselves for close to one hundred years.

It was a lot easier to persuade whites with privilege and power to share some of it with a younger, more innocent Bill Cosby than to persuade them to share privilege and power with people who behave in an Ugly manner, which they see Leslie Jones helping to promote and popularize.

Leslie’s show-persona says “I can be as loud and vulgar as I want, and I do not have to have any barriers whatsoever — and YOUR barriers mean nothing to me — and if you don’t like it then I will beat you down verbally, emotionally and physically.”

That is what is Ugly about her.

That is the brutish element about her which leads angry and mean people to compare both her — and Serena — with Gorillas.

You may think it is about Race…but if you think that the character Leslie plays should be the Poster Child for Blackness, then shame on you.

Keep in mind the original Planet of the Apes film, and which species it was that acted like mindless thugs controlling the freedom of other entities on the Planet: it was the Gorillas.

For decades, we have used the term Gorillas to denote henchmen and goons and thugs involved in criminal activities.

Until you acknowledge the degree to which popular Black culture promotes Thug-life you will not fully understand what it is that is motivating many white people who would be allies to reject BLM. Many of us support the NAACP, UNCF, Rainbow PUSH and all sorts of programs aimed at promoting Social Justice.

But we are tired of seeing Black thuggery and ignorance glamorized, excused and promoted.

That is what is UGLY — not Leslie, and shame on you for suggesting she is.

Leslie has got to make a living.

Unfortunately, I cannot ride a public train where I live without people who act like Leslie’s characters disturbing the peace and inflicting themselves on everybody else’s right to a safe and quiet ride, whether they are shouting at each other, or talking loudly on their phones or playing their vulgar music without headphones, or stealing other people’s phones and purses, beating their children and each other, and in some cases raping women right on the trains.

Those are the people who have already reduced their own neighborhoods to Feudal Thugdoms, and now they want to do the same to mine.

Ain’t nothing funny about it.
