After working at my first software job for about a year, I was asked to manage the development of an industry first-of-its-kind communication platform. I had no experience leading a team of any kind and very little knowledge of software development processes and best practices. Despite that, I took on the task. I wanted to prove myself, and figured if I succeeded, it would do wonders for my career.
