My art works centred around global and social issues presented at exhibition in London: creative writing, illustration, video

I was a part of the final stage of the *ScribersHive Europe Project which took place in London, UK. It is a multi-media programme purposed to gather young people to create meaningful content on social issues.

At the start of this programme which took place in Athens Greece, I was taught the ScribersHive storytelling methodology, which firstly requires to identify a social issue and create a writing piece around that issue. That writing piece is then traded among other groups to be converted into an art piece. After this, the groups then trade art pieces and convert the artwork we received into short films. Check more details about the first stage in my previous article.

What is interesting about the SH methodology in relation to this project, is that we were working in groups with individuals from our home country as well as international: UK, Greece, Ukraine, Romania, Armenia and Jordan. Meaning that, as content is being traded between groups there is a cultural exchange of ideas and interpretations taking place.

After half a year from the first stage and as all phases have been completed, I was preparing for displaying my works at the exhibition for the public. The exhibition was a showcase of artwork, creative writing and film pieces that we have been created to highlight various social issues faced across the world, ranging from War, Migration, Mental Health and much more.

For example, at the first stage of writing the letter, I devoted my articles to the topic of Literacy and Climate Change. In the second step, I created an illustration on the importance of Mental Health. At the final stage, I created a video on the topic of Gender Equality, Violence and Personality, involving women of different ages, experiences and nationalities.

At first, I was involved in Challenge in order to represent the results of the whole Project. The mission was completed and we created a virtual tour software (360/3D tours), check it here.

After, in groups (project management, technical support, representors) we worked on organization of space and decoration of exhibition. The showcase event took place in London at the Anti-Tribalism Movement Culture House. The main outcome of the Project was that people learned about who you are and what you stand for, and appreciate the skills you have developed in telling your story.

Thanks to this Project I taught how to express myself through creative writing, graphic design and A/V production. Each stage of the programme combines hands-on training, engaging young people in our communities, cultural exchange, collaboration between participants and scheduled learning evaluations.

The Project inspired me to speak the truth of issues affecting me and my community. Your Voice is Matters!

ScribersHive is a unique learning experience designed to give the young people a way to express themselves through multimedia storytelling. This programme was created so that a diverse will be taught transferable production skills they can use to voice their issues in today’s modern world.
