Hi Brittany, like you I left a wonderful life in California where I had a boat, traveling on weekends — to take care of mom with a similar disease. She passed away in 2003 and I became submerged in getting a master’s degree because I wanted to work in elder care. I did so and here I am in 2016 unable to continue this path. I don’t exercise, I overeat, I lost the love of my only child, and am tired, so tired. Don’t know what’s next….but I have faith in God and this has kept me going. I hope life continues to honor the sacrifices you’ve made and may you find your true north. Thanks for your post.
