If you’re looking for a Latamdate review exploring the complaints of an online dating scam, you’ve come to the right place.

Before hitting that “Sign up” button when visiting an online dating site, nearly everyone thinks to himself and herself, “What if I become a victim of a scam?” And Latin dating sites are no exception. As one of the leading online dating sites for Latina ladies, Latamdate takes the safety and protection of its members very seriously.

Still, there are certain Latamdate scam reports that cannot go unnoticed by an Internet user looking to create an online dating profile, which is why we decided to address these reports head-on. Our investigative journalist went online to get to the bottom and dig out the truth by interviewing single Latina women, approximately 40 percent of whom are on online dating sites.

Since many of these Latin women use Latamdate, one of the leading online dating platforms and the go-to destination for single Latinas looking for a foreigner, we decided to ask them if there’s any scam on Latamdate?

Latamdate scam: Even real Latina women are called ‘scammers’ and ‘fraudsters’ for no reason

Like many other Colombian women looking to meet foreign men on international online dating sites, Isabella, 28, she has an active dating profile on Latamdate. “Yes, I’ve heard stories of Latamdate scam, but I’ve never personally encountered any form of scam or fraud on the website since signing up back in 2014,” Isabella tells the journalist.

“I think many men who complain about scam on Latamdate — or any other Latin dating site that takes safety precautions to protect its users — as an excuse for why they failed to meet Latin girls,” says Isabella, who once found a long-term, long-distance romantic relationship with a Western man on Latamdate but had to call it quits when she found out that the foreigner was actually married to another woman.

What Isabella is trying to say is that many foreign men call Latin women fraudsters and scammers for no reason just because they squandered their chance to meet the lady. “One of my friends, Mariana, who’s also a Colombian girl and maintains an active online dating profile on Latamdate, told me how a foreigner started calling her a ‘fraudster’ just because she refused to send him a picture of herself taking a bath wearing no clothing!” says Isabella. “That’s just ludicrous and unbelievable!”

Unfortunately, complaints like these aren’t unheard of. Many men who use dating sites decide to “test” if the woman they’re chatting with is real or not but asking them to send a nude pic. Some fall into that trap, while others don’t. As you can imagine, the latter end up being called “fraudsters,” “scammers,” “fakes,” and other names.

Millions of real Latin women are on Latamdate

The next girl we interviewed was Sofia, who has a Colombian dating profile on Latamdate and admits that she’s looking for a foreigner to get married and start a family. “So far, I haven’t met a Western man who’s decent and willing to respect me as a woman,” complains Sofia.

“The tragic truth is that many men on dating sites treat women as objects and think it’s not worth putting effort into the online communication,” says Sofia. “Well, guess what — just because both you and me are single and on the dating site does not necessarily mean that we’re a great match and should immediately become a couple. You still need to show me that you’re the exact person I’m looking for, just like you should be trying to figure out whether or not I’m the right person for you!”

Still, Sofia insists, online dating is becoming the most popular way of meeting your life partner in many Latin American countries, while traditional dating is slowly becoming a “relic of the past.”

“Many of my friends met their husband on online dating sites, including Latamdate, so I’m confident that I haven’t yet met the person I’ll be happy to share my bed with,” says Sofia.

Here’s how fraudsters can steal personal and bank information on dating sites

When asked about online dating scam, Sofia recalled an incident in which a male user was trying to steal her personal information for fraud.

“I was chatting with this handsome young man named David — as I later found out, he had a fake profile pic, obviously (silly me) — and it went on for weeks,” says Sofia. “When chatting, David was asking a lot of questions. I mean, it wasn’t that shocking considering that asking questions is part of the “getting to know one another” thing. But some of his questions bothered me.”

Some of the questions that the male user asked Sofia in the course of chatting included her full name, real address, the name of the bank in which she had an account, and a series of personal questions such as her mother’s maiden name, her pet’s name, the name of her first best friend, etc. You know where this is all going, right?

Fortunately, Sofia wasn’t blinded by her affection for the young man, who even promised that they’d get married when they finally meet and realized that there was something suspicious about all these “unnatural” questions. Then, Sofia contacted a support team at Latamdate and notified them about the male user. As it turned out, several Latin women complained about the same user, and the user got permanently banned as a result.

Fraudsters like David prey on victims not only on Latamdate but also other dating sites. The only way to stop this form of fraud, in which the fraudster attempts to steal the unsuspecting victim’s personal and bank information by finding out more about the victim to guess their password and secret question and obtain unauthorized access to their credit cards, is to report it to the support team as soon as possible if you have any suspicions.

Are there fake profiles on Latamdate?

The problem of fake profiles on online dating sites is not a new phenomenon. Many foreign men are hesitant to sign up on dating sites out of fear that they will be chatting with a female user who turns out to be a man using a female’s online dating account to commit fraud.

“There’s nothing worse than wasting your time on a non-existent person with a made-up personality, fake profile picture, and conversations that lead nowhere,” says Gabriella, who has been a regular user of Latamdate since 2017. Some “fakes” do so just so they can get a laugh at the unsuspecting single victim, while others use fake accounts to commit fraud online.

Some of you may think that it’s nearly impossible to solve the problem of fake dating profiles on online dating sites, but it’s not entirely true. With advanced security and verification systems in place, the risk of encountering a fake account is reducing.

Latamdate, for example, uses a premium system that verifies users and ensures that all dating profiles of Latina women on the website are real and authentic. On the vast majority of online dating sites that don’t take the safety and protection of their users seriously, a user can pretend to be anyone he or she wants to be.

It’s actually quite scary to admit that, but on most other dating sites, scammers take advantage of website security vulnerabilities and create profiles of beautiful Latin girls so that unsuspecting male users fall in love with them and steal money and gifts in exchange for the time spent chatting and their empty promises that they’ll “meet some day.”

So is it all scam or not?

Many of you might still be wondering, “So is Latamdate scam or not?” Our investigation concludes that it’s not. Sure, scammers and fraudsters exist on nearly every website to a bigger or lesser degree, but thanks to Latamdate’s advanced security and verification systems in place, the risk of becoming a victim of scam or fraud on the leading Latin dating site is very unlikely.

Latamdate anti-scam practices are highly appreciated. The site makes efforts to fight against any suspicious fraudulent activity. All female members have to verify the profiles; therefore the chance of finding a fake profile on Latamdate is close to zero. The website requires the ladies to take a photo holding a sign stating their profile ID numbers so as to make sure they’re real. Even though, you should be cautious enough when dating online since no site can 100% guarantee that there is no scam at all. They just do their best to keep you away from it.

With online dating, there’s never a 100-percent guarantee that the person you’re chatting with is not trying to steal your money or sensitive information. Online dating users aren’t advised to let their guard down with strangers too early. Do keep in mind that skilled scammers and fraudsters may prey on you for weeks or even months before their “final act,” which is the most devastating and heartbreaking experience for any single person who has been deceived and fooled for so long.

Latamdate ensures that every one of its members enjoys the experience of using the online dating site from the moment they sign up. With the help of Latamdate’s advanced security measures in places, online dating users can truly enjoy the real experience of online dating.

Still, it is not advised to share your personal information too early or at all unless you are 100-percent confident that the person you’re chatting with isn’t a scammer, fraudster, or fake. If you happen to spot one while navigating the online dating site, don’t hesitate to contact the support team at Latamdate, which promptly respond to reports of suspicious or illegal behavior on the website.
