OLIVER HAZARD DAY

OLIVER HAZARD

45 days ago Oliver Hazard Day was a “what if..” idea, brought up in the living room. We put one foot in front of the other and fearlessly planned an evening event, set for August 31st in downtown waterville. We submitted all of the permits to sell beer and block off the streets of the city’s downtown. Pulling in the help from various local businesses and bands, we quickly curated a small craft beer and music festival. In fact, Oliver Hazard Day ended up becoming the first “all local craft beer festival” in downtown waterville.

We had 7 breweries, 3 food trucks, 3 bands, and nearly a thousand people attend. Even the Mayor of Waterville came. This is what she said:

“The city is very proud Oliver Hazard is from Waterville,” she said. “It’s a day to send them off and wish them well [on tour]. We do like to support anyone from our town who is trying to do something.”

Our local paper, The Toledo Blade, the 5th largest newspaper in Ohio, wrote a great article leading up to the festival: http://www.toledoblade.com/Music-Theater-Dance/2018/08/30/Waterville-band-Oliver-Hazard-hosts-music-beer-festival/stories/20180829001

All in all, it was a massive success and we still can’t believe we pulled it off. We are heading out on tour today. See you all on the east coast. Here are some photos from the event in the meantime:
