Ok while I get where you’re coming from, supporting content creators from a marginalized group is really an important part of social justice and uplifting marginalized communities. It’s not as “direct” in that you aren’t preaching to bigots about the wrongs of their ways, but in supporting marginalized creators — who definitely have a harder time pulling themselves into the mainstream and getting published and getting paid for their hard work, at least in comparison to, well, non-mainstream populations — you’re funding a community (if you invest money into creators), or at the very least giving someone’s work attention that they would be hard pressed to get normally.
Also a lot of trans content creators get a MASSIVE amount of hate (see: the rest of the comments on poor Angela’s post, as well as any non-cis person on Youtube getting harassed incessantly by anti-SJW shitheads). So some positivity goes a long way. And besides, trying new entertainment as opposed to watching reruns of what you already know you like is not that difficult.
