I agree with the points you made regarding the value found in family-school connections. But what are your thoughts on homework policy? Do you think that all students should receive the same amount of work to take home if at all? It would be interesting to know your thoughts about homework policy. In regards to implementing multicultural books in the classroom, I also find that these books not only validate students’ home languages, but they also support students in developing positive attitudes toward school and learning. When languages are validated in the classroom, students can be exposed to multiple ways of expressing thoughts and value systems. Like you mentioned, bilingual books also encourage parents to read and discuss these books with their children which is important to build relationships. However, when thinking about instruction, how do you think these books can be used to promote an inclusive classroom? How can parents be involved during the use of these books in the classroom?
