I don’t mind most of those. It’s the “content” behind them that bothers me. Empty buzz words bother me. But they’re only empty buzz words if they’re skinning emptiness. Otherwise they’re jus’ words, and if they’re appropriate then they’re appropriate.
I do think that most of the “-ize” suffix words are a bit silly. They’re mostly modern constructs invented by the business world to make them sound dynamic and active. I’m fair confident suggesting that most of them came about in instances when these quick-talking slicksters of business had insufficient vocabulary to say what they wanted. So they “-ized” words.
And that’s a slickitized approach to language.
Which, incidentally, brings me to announce my new DJ name: MT Buzzard.
