Just a point of curiosity here: Do you think you could tell the difference between the fifty good ones and the other bad ones at the time? Or did you have to go to all 5000 to get that one in a hundred good opportunities?
I ask because I did some job training once for a commission-based job where they did a breakdown of work-to-rewards ratio for us, just to put certain of the drudgery that seemed to be unpaid in perspective.
The job was BS, mostly because I don’t think I have the temperament to work on commission.
That particular breakdown of payoff compared to drudgery has stuck with me, though. One of them, “can’t always tell what’ll come of today’s effort” deals.
