Charles, you were right. I am rereading what I wrote. In the larger quote, it should be “is.” The verb there refers only to the last noun — different.

Except not really, because I think that I meant to say:

  • You say something, somebody tells you what you said, and now what you meant and what you said are different…

I think that there was an “it’s” in that I didn’t mean to include.
