There are so many hot female pop singers these days killing the game with their new albums.The singer, songwriter, actress and most of all the Princess of Pop, Ariana Grande, has made her huge comeback through her newest album, Thank U, Next. Ariana surely went through some hard times getting to where she is now. At her past show in Manchester, England during her “Dangerous Women” tour, there was a bombing that killed 22 people and injured around 60. Ariana said it gave her PTSD after it all happened. She said it broke her. After all that she still managed to continue her tour. She finally showed us that nothing can bother her. When I first heard her single, Thank U, Next, I was completely shook. It is definitely, hands down an all-time favorite break up anthem for so many girls. This empowering song is all about Ariana’s ex boyfriends and all the many things she has realized and learned from them. She first sings about her past relationship with Big Sean. She says, “Thought I’d end up with Sean, but he wasn’t a match”. She then goes on singing about more of her past exes, including Mac Miller. Nothing bad was said about him as she sings, “Wish I could say thank you to Malcom because he was an angel”. The song is mostly all about her self-love and how much she has grown. Just when I thought that would be the best part of the album, it wasn’t. In my opinion, she released the most perfectly fitting music video. Ariana’s video is based on the most iconic romantic comedies, Mean Girls. Ariana takes on the baddest of the Mean Girl’s clan as Regina George in the video. She also dresses up as Elle Woods to reenact some of the most popular Legally Blonde scenes. She really killed it.

Billie Eilish is just another rebellious, female pop singer who is becoming more and more popular. Her voice is like no one else’s. It is quiet and breathy, and her tone is somewhat haunting. Billie has just released her new album. “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go”. To be honest I never listened to her music before this album came out. Shockingly, she is only 17 years old, but has an absolutely amazing voice. Achieving such fame at such a young age must be awesome and daunting. Billie is best known for her single, “Ocean Eyes”. It’s a love song recorded only when she was 14 years old. In the song, she sings directly to her love interest and compares his eyes to the beauty of the ocean. Billie does get a little creepy in another one of her singles’ music videos. The hit single music video, “You Should See me in a Crown”. We find her standing there with a crown on and a terrifying bunch of spiders crawling all over her face. I can definitely tell what kind of vibe she is trying to show off. Billie Eilish, through her music and videos presents a vibe of full on confidence. I get the message, “don’t mess with me” through some of her song lyrics. Overall, her new album is such a well-produced and fun thing to listen to. She is really moving in the right direction.
The one and only Taylor Swift, another female pop singer who has had such an empowering journey. Although she does get a lot of hate, nothing stops her. After years of popular success, in 2017, Swift came out with a completely different attitude than usual in her album, “Reputation”. It wasn’t flowered with normal, sweet songs about boys that audiences had become accustomed to. Instead, it was similar to Ariana’s latest album where she is exclaiming to all that she is a queen, basically saying “goodbye” to the old T-Swift and welcoming the better, more savage Taylor. Swift has been recently posting on her Instagram with the same caption on each picture, “4.26”. There is also a similarly mysterious countdown on her website. No one knows what it means. It might just be her next album….hopefully. Could it be her early retirement? We hope not!
