Day 1 of ADPR 2200

Here is a little about me:

What’s your name, major and hometown?

-Olivia Menzia, Advertising & Graphic Design, Prospect Heights, IL.

What would be the most useful thing for me to know about you as a student?

-I am very passionate about creativity. I am slower on the learning side, but am excited for this class and always will give it my all.

What do you wish was different about school?

-Test wouldn’t determine how smart you are.

Describe a moment in school last year when you felt really engaged. Why do you think that moment was such a positive one for you?

-When I got the job as a campus tour guide and joined the sailing team! It made me fall in love with Marquette even more, and introduced me to so many more amazing people.

What do you think teachers think about you, and what do you wish they’d think about you?

-Teachers most likely think I am a pretty average student, nice…. I hope. I wish teachers knew that I am giving it my all and that I truly want the best for everyone. I wish when I meet a teacher it is more about starting a friendship; I see them as a friend as well as my teacher. I wish they felt the same way.

Tell me about a teacher who you feel knew you well. What kind of student were you in his or her class? What did he or she do to get to know you?

-My art teacher knew me the best I’d say. It was a class that let me express my creativity and really bring out the best in me. I looked forward to 3D art everyday in high school. I would go in at lunch sometimes and start extra projects with her. She considered me a friend, not just her student. We still keep in touch. She helped me get into the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design as well.

If you could build a school, what would it look like?

-EVERY BUILDING IS A TREEHOUSE, pet tea cup pigs in every dorm room, everyone rides to class in hot airbaloons! (Classes all around the world)

What do you wish I would ask you so that I can be a good teacher for you?

-What is the best learning style for each of us.

What makes a weekend day great for you?

-Going on adventures, trying new things and laughing with people I love.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
