More details on X-Men: Dark Phoenix reshoots

A little bit of extra information has come to light about the planned reshoots for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and the release date change for that particular movie.

It’s being reported that the movie actually come in a little under budget, but that it’s been decided the third act of the movie needs a little work. Writer/director Simon Kinberg is thus penning some new material, and the cost of the new material is likely to come in at under $10m.

Furthermore, both Kinberg and Fox were keen to move the release date, deliberately shifting to a February bow. A time of the year that hardly hurt Black Panther‘s box office performance

Earlier this week, 20th Century Fox announced delays to a pair of X-Men movies that originally had been earmarked for release this year. New Mutants, from director Josh Boone, moved again from February 2019 to August 2019 (its second sizeable shift in release date). X-Men: Dark Phoenixmeanwhile, from Simon Kinberg, has shunted from November of this year to February of next.
