Hello Pavel, I am a Finance User and I have been working to develop a Power BI project from scratch.

Instead of dealing with dozens of 2-D tables in Excel to be copied/paste in Power Point, I can just refresh Power BI and interact with the multi dimensional data.

The User Experience is simply different. No comparison. Of course, I will continue to use Excel to do some charts or for running simulations. But to explore/interact with Data, it is so much easier with Power BI.

Power BI is an inexpensive enabler, helping us explore high dimensional data in an interactive way and helping creating insight. The great advantage I get from Power BI is the capacity to model and shape data in quasi real time — WITHOUT the need for IT. If I want a new “Measure”, I can do implement it on the spot. However, I should add that we are dealing with small cubes of data (<1million lines). If we had Big Data, then it will be very important to have a strong IT.
