Codependency is a dependence on others, their moods, their behavior, their illness or well-being and their love.

Paradoxically it seems that others depend on people with codependency, but in reality they are the dependents. They look strong but feel helpless. They seem controlling but in reality they are controlled themselves, sometimes by a disease such as addiction.
