One Extra Degree

“At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And with steam, you can power a train. Just one extra degree makes all the difference.”

It’s amazing isn’t it? The difference one extra degree can make.

Try this quick exercise.

Think of ways you can apply this concept to your life and and how you can take your relationships at work, at home, with people, and life in general to a much deeper, much higher level by adding an extra degree to these bonds.

Here are my two cents.

Each and every citizen of the world — you, me, our friends, family, everyone we know — is made in the image of God, whichever one each of us happens to believe in. He sent us into this world with all the tools we need to create, grow, share, and endure, most important of which is the intellect. If that be true, then none of us is a lesser form when compared to the other. We are, each one of us, perfect and valuable in our own way. And equal. Lovely and beautiful things begin to happen when one goes in the know of this theory. There are no more boundaries. No more egos. Pride is conquered. Inner peace is found. One way to put this into practice starting tomorrow. Greet and talk, really talk to people like your driver, the guy who brings you tea in the office, the guy who shines your shoes, the guard who opens the front door for you at the office building. Just making the effort to talk to them about something as simple as how their day is going can, WILL, bring a smile to their face and respect for you in their heart. You don’t need to write a blog, spend huge sums of money undertaking social projects, or any other tall order activities. Nothing. Just stop and connect. You will see the difference.

What’s your story of the ‘extra degree’?
