What the Rain Says

(A Poem)

When the sky darkens, and rain clouds gather,
When lightening flashes and thunder roars,
Then the sound of resounding water drops hit the earth
Like the Dothraki army marching to fight for Khaleesi.
Then listen to what the rain says:

It says sit with friends and family,
Share a cup of Ginger tea.
Pass the cake, pass biscuits, pass the g…
Turn the lights down low, turn up!
Watch a movie or watch yourselves talk.
Talk about the good old days and tomorrow
Talk away the blues and the hidden sorrow.
Whatever you do, share and make love.
But if you’re going to be alone:
Grab a blanket, and read yourself to sleep.
