My problem with most Neo-liberal structures, from the media to everyone of them.

I am someone who believes in the necessity of impermanence. Nation-states should not be permanent, power structures must undergo reforms in which the flow of power changes, the media must always be faced with existential crises that challenges their authority and influence. Because oppression is the shadow of power, injustice follows closely after fairness. I think that was why Tom Jefferson said words to the effect that “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants”.

That is why in many cases, I think we must begin to understand the role of activism as antithetical to power. Activist should stand outside of power and continuously rail against its misdeeds, while ensuring it is raising a stream of people who truly share their convictions to take power and use it well, in the context of the sausage-making of governance.

Oh, I wasn’t that precocious. Born in a deeply religious home (Deeper Life), I had no choice. We had no TV, saw no movies, went to no parties, had no social life save school and church, all we had was books and newspapers. I had to know those things. Plus a father who was interested in educating us about our country. So, not like a powerful RAM up here. Lol. Hehehe.
