Mrs Claxton, I’m glad you haven’t had the misfortune of being in a dictatorship. Because if you have, you’ll know that the very first place you meet violent oppression by the government is in the loving, tender hands of the police. Sharpeville and Soweto in Apartheid South Africa was done by the police. So yes, the government isn’t the politicians and the desk-bound bureaucrats and buildings alone. Godspeed.
