Review | Dami Dante’s debut EP has us losing our home training!

Afro-Fusion artiste Dami Dante, whose real name Damilola Michael Awoseyi, is a graduate of Mass communication from Lead city University. He is currently signed to Sound So Good (SSG) Records. And he just dropped a debut body of works called NO HOME TRAINING which is available on all platforms. This is one EP that leaves you wanting more. Let me take you on a journey of how the tracks line up.

Track 1 - ITK
This is a song about a beautiful girl who's all about her paper. If you don't have cash the you can't roll with her. I especially like how he kicks off the album with this track because it gives you a vibe of how the rest of the EP will play out.

Track 2 - Selassie
Using this track as a warning to fake friends, Dami Dante warns against people with bad vibes who pretend to care. He highlights the fact that people don't generally care how you make it but they will be willing to suck up to you once you've made it. I love how relatable this track is.

Track 3 - Rubber
This is my favorite track of this EP. It is basically a PSA for safe sex. It's about a girl who is extremely flirtatious who is willing to risk it all for just a night with Dami Dante but he repels her advances. It is such a fun song preaching safety. You'll love the vibe to it. I hope condom companies take note.

Track 4 - Bobo Mi
On this track, Dami Dante is just basically describing what he likes in a woman but with such a twist. He's of the opinion that if you aren't his spec then you should bounce along. It's a fun unruly song that can grow into a boys anthem for their love for thick girls.

Track 5 - Jumoke
It's not a new thing for artistes to use female names as song titles, especially in Nigeria where names like Amaka and Shade have been over used in songs. It's refreshing to hear a track with a not so common title. Of course, this doesn't celebrate Jumoke, if anything it reveals that she's some sort of player he prefers because she's owning her ways. I really like the vibe of the song though.

Track 6 - For Face
Now this one is more of a love song but from a bahd boy's perspective. It also depicts the fact that a person's true personality can't be told just by looking at them. Which weirdly can be relatable to Dami Dante himself because when you see him his innocent demeanor doesn't translate to his type of music.

This whole EP is a vibe and a half! There were no bad or dull spots for me. I’d rate it a solid 8½/10 and that’s because I wish it was longer or had more tracks. The production of each track was so smooth. Shout out to the producer, Blublood, for an amazing project. This is a very good first offering from Dami Dante and and hope to see visuals for some of the tracks real soon.
