I will be at the Rotaract Club of Gbagada tomorrow afternoon, Sunday 27th of August. I have been invited to share fellowship with my fellow volunteers and partners in service.

I will be sharing my Rotaract story, from being inducted into the Rotaract of Oto-Awori the year Rotary International asked us to ‘make dreams real’. I was inducted sometime in October 2008. How I got the honour of being the 9th and 2nd female President of RC Oto-Awori, how it was in this organization I led a 700 man battalion as Chair of the Maiden Edition of the World 🌎 peace ✌🏽 Day. We had a peaceful trek to the Governors Office in 2012 to commemorate the 21st September, United Nations International Day of Peace.

I will tell them about how I was privileged to have worked with many committees both at the level of my Club, the District and Nigeria 🇳🇬 I will tell them about how being a Rotaractor found me my surrogate parents, second family and my Oto-Awori home 🏡; a place where I found love in its undiluted form and a place where I can run to for succour away from the problems I encounter in my sojourns.

I will tell them how Rotaract shaped me and reinforced in me to serve my neighbours without counting cost or returns.

I will remember to tell them of the good 😊 and maybe share some of the bad times I had in the Rotary circle.

I will speak of how Rotary/Rotaract is one of the numerous non-profit organizations providing assistance for the needy especially girls and people with disabilities. How the club brought to fore my passion about adolescent reproductive health and gender rights.

How my courage to embark on a quest to fulfill my passion in gender rights advocacy; policy and regulations alongside reproductive health was and is still being inspired by Rotaract. How the organization taught me about leadership and how leaders are not individuals who just hold positions but people who see where they can make a contribution and take action. People who take charge!
