The Power of the Mind
The power of the mind is a subject that has been ongoing for years, with some believing in the power of thinking to do fantastic things and some who don’t believe in the mighty power of the mind.
Do you know how powerful your mind is?
The mind is like a fertile ground where anything can be planted. The mind is like a blank sheet of paper where anything can be drawn. The mind can be likened to a sponge that absorbs anything.
As a young boy, I used the power of my mind to design my future. At the tender age of 6, I decided to study Aerospace Engineering at the University. I had imagined working on aircraft, and it was so real that I was excited to tell anyone who asked me what I wanted to become; I would always say Aerospace Engineering.
Then I moved to the UK as a teenager and continued to pursue what I had created in my mind. Finally, at 21, I graduated with Honours with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. I felt a strong sense of accomplishment because I made my dream a reality.
One of the best books describing the power of the mind is the famous book by Napoleon Hill titled “Think and grow rich”.
When an image is so strong in your mind, it unlocks a strong emotion of desire to make it happen. So many things in the world have been done with the power of the mind.
To name a few, man’s landing on the moon is from the power of the mind. Who would have thought it possible to transport man over 384000km in a little vessel called a rocket and make him walk on the earth’s satellite? The conversion of a desert land to a land that attracts millions of tourists yearly, now known as Dubai, resulted from the mind. The great invention of aeroplanes was born from the power of the mind of someone who believed that humans could fly.
The benefits of tapping into the power of the mind are magnanimous. An image that is formed so strongly in your mind can only be erased by you, meaning that it does not matter if others can not see what you see because it is your mind.
An image formed in your mind can help you overcome fears. Fears of failure, rejection and abandonment can only be overcome when the image in your mind is so strong. If you think I’m lying, ask Thomas Edison. An individual that kept going and trying new things in times of adversity and discouragement.
What would you like to achieve?
Have you tried tapping into the power of your mind? Drawing the image of what you want to do or become? You can grab that palette and brush and design your dreams. I urge you to unleash the power of your mind.
