The FMOB Lesson from Hilda Baci’s Story

A New World Record Owner!!!

In the past few days, the Nigerian media space has been captivated by the grit, determination, and passionate drive of a Nigerian-born Chef, Hilda Baci, in breaking a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon previously held by Lata Tondon from India (87 hours 45 minutes) in 2019.

This Nigerian Amazon inspired millions of people all over the world as she finally broke this record and is currently cementing her record as she has been cooking for 93+ hours now (as of the time of writing this article).

The hype, pomp, attention, and recognition the world is currently conferring on this phenomenal woman and the brand endorsements, prizes, awards, and a lot of other benefits lining up for her reminded this humble writer of the magnificent and magical power of unlocking an FMOB (First, Most, Only, Best) status in whatever you do.

Attaining an FMOB status places you in the limelight and raises your head and shoulders above the crowd.

What is the FMOB status? It can be paraphrased as follows:

Whatever you do — your profession, your job, your skills, your path, your field -no matter how mundane or ordinary it may seem, people will give you their full respect, and attention and be willing to pay a premium for it, when you are either the FIRST to do that thing, the person to do the MOST in that area, the ONLY person to do that thing, or the BEST at doing that thing.

This idea echoes Martin Luther King’s quote that reads:

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

The lesson is clear: standing out from the crowd, going the extra mile, and hitting the FMOB status is a shortcut to immortality, wealth, and the recognition you deserve in your field.

This is one of the few reasons I will die on the altar of Lionel Messi being the Greatest football player that has ever lived.

The man has unlocked all FMOB levels!!! 🥹❤️🐐

But you probably know that already, unless you’re a hater of good stuff (I’ll throw digs at Wasiu lovers any opportunity I get😂🤡)

Beautiful Chef Hilda; a crush of the writer

About five days ago, I had never heard of the name Hilda Baci; I didn’t even know she existed, and I’m sure that’s the same for most of us (except for some wannabe chefs like Adesola who has been trying desperately to purchase her recipe book).

But right now, she has risen out of that obscurity, and her name is on every Nigerian’s lips and she’s even a global name.

Why?

How?

Because she unlocked the FMOB status!

There may be better chefs in Nigeria, chefs with secret recipes that Hilda might only dream of knowing or learning.

But if you were to ask an average Nigerian like me, who doesn’t know anything about the chef profession in Nigeria, about who the best chef in Nigeria and the world is right now, I won’t think twice before answering, ‘Hilda Baci’

Why?

Because she is the FIRST chef in the world to cook for 88+ hours continuously.

Because she is the chef with the MOST number of hours cooked for continuously.

Because she is the ONLY chef in the world to cook for 88+ hours continuously.

She might not be the best yet but securing the first 3 stages of the FMOB will surely bolster her chances of being the BEST.

In conclusion, attaining the FMOB status is a guaranteed silver bullet to attaining greatness, fame, success, recognition, and a shot at immortality in your chosen field.

However, my dear reader, be warned.

It won’t be easy.

It’s not for the faint-hearted.

The competition is fierce.

It’s only for those willing to go the extra mile.

It’s only for the passionate.

It’s only for those with unwavering self-belief.

Hilda Baci is inspiring, and she has shown us once again that “impossible is nothing.”

Most importantly, however, her story has reiterated the principle that becoming an FMOB is a shortcut to distinction in your field.

What do you want to be known for?

It’s time to get to work!

Remember, “Records don’t break an Idan, Idan breaks records.”

Be an Idan today!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Till another time…
