INTRODUCTION TO UI/UX DESIGN
User Interface also known as UI is defined as the visual representation of a brand or product, how the product looks like, how attractive it is(colors) and it's layout.
User Experience design also known as UX mainly deals with how the user will feel while using the product. UX mainly deals with research of users experience on a product and trying to make the experience better.
UX is not about creating the user experience, the experience already exists between the user and the product, instead it makes the user experience with the product better by making a lot of research on both the users and product and also usability testing.
UI is not the same as UX as this is a random assumption in the tech world. UI is a section under UX design. Before designing a particular product (job of a UI), the UX designer should have made research concerning the product, what to put and not what to put, what colors should be used..how will the user feel if this button stays at the middle etc. Before the UI designer will be able to come in to design the best view/research made by the UX designer.
The work of the UI designer is how the product should look like on both desktop and mobile view not minding the feelings of the user. A UI designer is mainly focused on what type of typography should be used, spacing between buttons, color contrast, alignment etc.
Pictorial Example of a Good UI Design and a Bad UI Design.
From the image above, the bad UI Design has issues with colors, when to use a button and font size. All these concept of design needs to be considered when designing.
Pictorial Example of a Good UX Design and a Bad UX Design.
The image above explains the concern of the user. The good UX design (the one with the green tick) has a more structured error message which will even make the user want to try again. They are both error messages but considering the feeling of the user is Paramount. From the bad UX design, the user will be so discouraged to start all over.
Both UI and UX designers are very important when designing a product.
