Being a total procrastinator
There are two types of people. The first type of man is successful, who achieves everything he wants, his day is enough for 24 hours. Second: procrastinator. The people of the first type here, most likely, never will delay, they have many important matters that require their direct participation. And this article is just for people as me, the representation of the second type.

The word “procrastination”, as Wikipedia tells us, has Latin roots and in modern English language is set to delay, detention, postponement. Consequently, “procrastination” — is the tendency to a permanently postpone “for later” unpleasant thoughts and deeds.
Up to a certain level delaying is the norm (we all know the conventional jokes about work “never do today what you can put off until tomorrow”, but growing this limit, procrastination becomes a serious problem. Laziness and procrastination have much in common, but it’s not the same thing. Rather laziness -one of the many components that make up the phenomenon of procrastination.
So who is he, a mysterious “procrastinator”?

First of all, one who is not accustomed to discipline is suffering procrastination. In fact, who wants to brush their teeth on a schedule and do physical drill strictly from 6:30 to 6:45? Who actually is ready to deal with these exercises not being tied to a certain time? That’s right, the only one who won’t read this article.
By the way, this same article was intended to be written a minimum three months ago. And all this time it has not been published only because the author (Olympia Powell) of this article is having the problem of procrastination. It’s hard, you know, just sit and write the article. What if suddenly it won’t work out? And if I miss something? But what if…? Ahh … well, there’s no hurry, in fact. It is better to go drink some coffee, sleep, read etc.
And that’s the essence of procrastination.
What is actually a man-procrastinator doing while all important cases are waiting, though he is aware of their importance and the need to be completed?
He is most distracted and entertained, until the very last moment, trying to ignore this unpleasant in every sense, feeling that time is running out, and nothing has not been done yet. Then he distracts and entertains with a vengeance, just to forget about the depressing consequences of the failure of all that is required to be done.
A true procrastinator is never in a hurry to bring his case to the end. There will always be 1000 and 1 reason that “the whole world can wait.” Sooner or later, in particularly severe cases, it is difficult not only to follow through but generally start anything new. Immediately there appears a fear that there will be added one more case to the mountain of unfinished cases, which alone will pester its presence.
Even if procrastinator found the remnants of the forces to complete a particularly important or particular long trailing case, the fact that it is completed does not bring former moral satisfaction, only a slight relief. The reason is that a bunch of the remaining cases is not going away, and the completed work with one project relentlessly reminds us that there is still a long to-do list.
Incidentally, it is better this list to be. Typically, a procrastinator doesn’t have this list, naively believing that all his numerous unfinished business fit in his head. The only thing that these cases do in his mind — bring “confusion and vacillation”, not giving focus, frightening with their number, which often seems to be larger than it actually is.
Therefore, it follows the conclusion for those who have decided to move from the second type of people into the first type:
Rule №1: Make a numbered list of cases that have already accumulated.
After drawing up such a list, it should be a little positive reinforcement: it seems much bigger while being in your mind, than on paper. This means that there is not so much work to be done as you thought. For the “running” procrastinator — a good sign, and some relief.
I must say, the implementation of these rules — is also the case. It will fall into the same heap if you won’t begin its implementation immediately, before it comes to mind to have some coffee. If you have the time to read this article, it means there is the time to make a numbered list sorted. Therefore:
Rule №2: Compile this list right now!
It won’t work without the nice bonuses in this case, too. The fact is, that every time procrastinator will bring the case to the end, no matter how small, the realization that he still could, will be fixed. This confidence will grow time after time. And one day the great things will come instead of small and a person (not a procrastinator anymore) will be able to bring them to a logical conclusion. Do you want to experience a few joyous feelings because of coming closer to the solution of your problem? Then follow the rule №2.
Just behind the drawing up of a list of current affairs, strongly recommended setting priorities. This means that you need to reconsider the importance, urgency, and necessity of each individual item. That will make you completing everything easier. So…
Rule №3: Identify priorities (importance, urgency), sort cases in accordance with the execution priorities.
Problems can arise in this way. The man used to think that all his deeds are important. No wonder, how can he get and throw a half of important things he kept in his mind all the time. Definitely not in vain. He kept them because they seemed to be important, but it is time to review them and take a critical look at this great importance.
A simple test can help here. For the sake of brevity, I will outline the test “criterion of desirability” Take each item aloud and say “I want …” substituting the wording of the case that you have listed there instead of dots. If it suddenly turns out that you do not want to, but have to, this deal does not suit you and you can safely remove it far away from this list. If you are afraid to throw those things that you have to do for someone, but do not want to, then create a separate list for them. At the end of this article, you’ll see, they can be safely discarded. This exercise will help you in the transformation of the procrastinator in a successful person, and give no incomparable feeling of “weight off one’s shoulders”.
The importance of compliance “the criterion of desirability” cannot be overemphasized. I hope that each of you cherish the time of his life, regardless of religious, philosophical and other attitudes. You can release as much as possible time of your life for those cases you always want to do, using this criterion. These cases will be done for the sake of the process itself not only for the result. This means that the time will fly faster, but no less enjoyable. Such cases — are natural recreation not even cases at all.
It may seem that I advise you to leave only some frivolous things. How much do you, the author, saw people who liked to work? And it is necessary to live, earn money somehow, anyway!
It is definitely necessary. I’m trying to keep it all together, too. I’m here the best example. But you have to understand what for is it all. I told myself: “I want to change! I want to reach goals!” And I’m trying my best…
Here the age-old question arises, “We live to eat or eat to live?” The same thing with all the other spheres.
We live to work or work to live?
