Development Update #11: Racing in Testnet 2

Another week has gone by, and we are very eager to come back to you with another Development Update to share the latest information on Oly Sport.
Our first Esports tournament and maybe the first NFT tournament in the world took place this week. We tried our best to bring fair competition to every Oly Racers, despite things you may not understand clearly.
As you already know, racecourses come in various lengths, from 1000m to 3000m. While racing, every horse has its chance to accelerate in the crucial moments and take the lead. That’s the reason why players need to know their horse well and pick the right racecourse to utilize the horse’s Stamina and maximize the chance to win.
Another thing that you might misunderstand is ELO. Every horse starts with 1000 ELO, and it will change depending on the racing result. The ELO distribution after the race has changed from Testnet 1, and the Ranking Classes help bring more fairness to the race, giving every horse a chance to win when racing against opponents on the same level (and ELO — which is determined by winning/losing races).
In Testnet Phase 2, you could barely see the difference because it’s more of a “private” Testnet for players in the whitelist than a Public Testnet for everyone to join. We needed to consider the player base, and we decided to deploy “free race” with no ELO restriction.
We will come back with Breeding #2 because this is a complicated mechanism that cannot be fully explained in just one post. We will keep the white paper updated with as much detail as possible.
See you again in Development Update #12
