What in the world is going on? Lebanon is now on fire. Palestine, both Gaza with Hamas and the West Bank without, the hood, every state between Florida and Tennessee, Syria, Ukraine, Israel with the Netanyahu death squad, and wherever else I missed. Leave it in the comments so we can pray for that land its people too. They and more have failed us.

Senator Mitt Romney was interview by The Atlantic and was critical of his fellow elected officials. What about them? They cannot live without the role they occupy. President Biden is governing based on his own personal beliefs as a Zionist, fueling a war that is handicapping the Israeli economy not to mention our economy. Vice President Harris seems to be more of the same. If not, where is the pushback in the Oval Office? Former President Donald Trump tasked his son-in-law to bring peace to the Middle East. What was the result? The Abraham Accords that increased tensions between Morocco and Algeria, ignored the plight of the Palestinians, both Muslim and Christian, and more. For months we have heard of de-escalation and a fear of the Gaza onslaught spreading. Who are you tyring to fool? President Putin is still in Ukraine trying to claim or reclaim land. Mahmoud Abbas was elected to a four-year term in 2005. It is 2024.

During the reign of these elected officials, thousands of people have been murdered, often seen as collateral damage. This is an example of senseless killing. As they politic from their podiums, the institutions they occupy are crumbling. The United Nations, the organization meant to avoid war, death, politics, has no serious power. Useless. Look back at the South Africa-ICJ case. Two and a half months ago from the time of this article, PM Netanyahu and Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant and three members of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, and Ismail Haniyeh were found guilty of war crimes in this round of fighting. What has happened since? How many people have been killed in between imaginary lines?

Enough.

These ideas of Liberte, democracy, world police, justice, are all under fire. We are being choked by the smoke and mirrors. With the rise of old people strong style leaders, we saw a decline in the neo-liberal order. With the neo-liberals and Liberte in office, we find discrimination of all sorts, from the chaos in France with Muslims and people of color to Columbia University breaking up pro-Palestine protests and those holding shabbat sacred just so they can fight antisemitism.

What is going on? I have no idea. If you know, please tell me. Sami Hamdi on The Thinking Muslim podcast advises that we break our two-party stronghold on us. These politicians are afraid of losing their power. We both know that. Your candidate may lose. But if they have enough votes, who knows what will happen tomorrow? Islam teaches me to work with others for a common good. Here is my contribution. The world needs change. We cannot have these bloodthirsty maniacs and their stooges in power anymore.
