Thank you for writing this. It would seem that empathy and civil discourse are going to be key for the health of our democracy.

I’ll note that, as an environmentalist, one of the strategies I’d use going forward is to emphasize the inherent conservatism that goes into trying to protect the planet. There’s nothing more conservative than good-old-fashioned conservation— from there, we can start a dialogue.
