Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s recent mention of the "Naqab Desert" as a potential relocation site for Palestinians from Gaza until Israel ceases its operations has once again brought attention to this region. The Naqab Desert has long been considered as a potential destination for displacing Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip, often under the guise of "land exchange" projects. He expressed concern over the potential "security and military repercussions" that could arise and escalate beyond control. The President further mentioned that if Palestinians were displaced to Sinai, it would effectively transfer the conflict to that region, making it a base for attacking Israel. He emphasized that this displacement would not be limited to Gaza but could extend to the West Bank, with Palestinians potentially being relocated to Jordan until Israel concludes its operation in Gaza.
